How To Control Your Foot & Shoe Odors

Today we are going to cover a subject that everyone experiences, but no one wants to talk about or fess up to it.What is that? It is foot or shoe odors, and the stinking truth is that you can have foot odors no matter how clean you are but if you follow the tips that we listed below you can control and maintain and remove shoe odors quickly and prevent a potential embarrassing encounter.

Here’s what I discovered:
Feet have more than 250,000 sweat glands capable of producing more than a pint of sweat per day.
Sweat in a warm confined space, like a tight fitting climbing shoe, is a breading ground for bacteria.
That bacteria eats an amino acid in the sweat then excretes waste which creates the strong odor. (GROSS!)
Since climbing shoes are rarely worn with socks natural remedies are best. You wouldn’t want your bare feet in contact with harsh chemicals. Those chemicals could potentially harm you and the material and construction of the shoe.
Not all climbing shoes are created equal. Synthetic lined climbing shoes tend to be more stinky than leather ones.

So now that we have given you the skinny on what cause foot odors you must be wondering what can I do to deodorize my shoes? Well, the last thing that you want to do is spray you favorite cologne or perfume as that which really make a funky mess inside of the shoe. Popuri or scented sprays will work to mask the odors temporarily and can actually worsen or strengthen the odors over time. Look for products that work to absorb the odors and neutralize them at the source and not just mask then. These type of products may cost a little bit extra but when you compared it to how much it will cost to keep replacing your shoe it will pay off in the long run.
