Can Drinking Coffee make you love longer?

Ok, I know that I write a blog on keeping health and taking all the necessary precautions to remain healthy and stay in shape but this post will be my one exception for the year. Every morning I wake up and the first thing that I do is grab my cup of coffee and watch the news and to be honest, I have always felt guilty about this because I thought the caffeine was doing more harm than good, but boy was I wrong. More good news on coffee: A large study has found that drinking coffee is associated with a reduced risk of dying from heart disease and certain other causes.

Researchers followed more than 200,000 doctors and nurses for up to 30 years. The participants had periodic physical examinations and completed questionnaires on diet and behavior, including their coffee habits. The study is in Circulation.

Compared with abstainers, nonsmokers who drank a cup of coffee a day had a 6 percent reduced risk of death, one to three cups an 8 percent reduced risk, three to five cups a 15 percent reduced risk, and more than five cups a 12 percent reduced risk. There was little difference whether they drank caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee. The association persisted after controlling for age, alcohol consumption, B.M.I. and other health and diet factors.

Now as I mentioned in my other post there is no substitute for exercising and eating right and by no means am I telling you that it is ok to pump yourself with coffee and you will be as healthy as an ox, but I thought I would juts share the article. Until my next post
